Harbor Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: August 7, 2026
On this page
This policy is part of the Harbor Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses Harbor — Brands, Community Managers, and visitors. Harbor works because the communities on it are real and the deals on it are honest. These rules protect that.
Never allowed
Fake influence — zero tolerance. Do not buy, sell, offer, or use fake members, followers, views, reactions, comments, or any other faked indicator of a community's size or engagement. Do not use bots, engagement pods, or incentivized-engagement schemes to inflate metrics. Do not misrepresent your audience in a listing, a negotiation, or a proof of performance. Fabricating a proof (edited screenshots, staged activity) is fraud. Federal law (the FTC's Rule on Consumer Reviews and Testimonials, 16 C.F.R. Part 465) prohibits trading in fake influence indicators, and violations here mean immediate termination and forfeiture of pending payouts per the Terms.
Hidden advertising. Do not run, request, or accept a paid promotion without clear and conspicuous sponsorship disclosure. Brands must never ask for disclosure to be removed or buried.
False claims of ownership. Do not claim, list, or attempt to manage a community you do not actually own or administer. Do not impersonate any person or organization.
Exposing people's private information. Do not post or share other people's personal information, including community members' names, faces, handles, contact details, or messages. Proof-of-performance uploads must have member-identifying details redacted. Do not use community access to harvest member data.
Illegal or harmful activity. No promotion or content that is unlawful, deceptive, or infringing; no fraud, money laundering, or evasion of sanctions; no malware, phishing, or attempts to breach, overload, probe, or disrupt Harbor; no harassment, threats, or hateful conduct toward any person or group.
Prohibited promotion categories. No deals promoting: illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia; weapons, ammunition, or explosives; sexual services or pornography; counterfeit goods; tobacco or vaping products to any audience; gambling where unlawful; payday or predatory lending; pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing recruitment, or "get rich quick" programs; or products making unsubstantiated health, cure, or earnings claims.
Restricted categories — pre-approval required. Deals promoting alcohol, dietary supplements, financial products and services, cryptocurrency, CBD or hemp products, or political or social-issue advocacy require Harbor's written approval before booking, and may be limited to appropriate communities and age-gated audiences. Email support@harborinfluence.com to request approval.
Platform abuse. No spam or bulk unsolicited outreach through Harbor messaging; no scraping, crawling, or bulk-downloading Harbor's directory or data; no reselling Harbor data; no automated account creation; no interfering with other users' deals; no fee circumvention (see Terms, Section 8).
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and take action proportionate to severity: warning, content or listing removal, deal cancellation, withholding release of deal funds during a fraud investigation, suspension, or permanent termination. Fraud and fake-influence violations skip the ladder — they result in immediate termination. Where required or appropriate, we report unlawful conduct to authorities.
Reporting. Seen something that breaks these rules? Email support@harborinfluence.com with links and details. We review every report.
Appeals. If we take action against you and you believe we got it wrong, reply to the enforcement notice or email support@harborinfluence.com within 14 days with your explanation. A different reviewer will look at it.
